Protein Chicken and Waffles

Ingredients

Real Good Foods Lightly Breaded Chicken Strips

For the Waffles (Kodiak, Birch Benders, or your fav):

  • ½ cup waffle mix
  • ½ cup water or milk (adjust based on mix instructions)
  • 1 egg (optional, for extra protein and texture)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or oil (optional for richness)

For Serving:

  • 2 tbsp butter (for topping)
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (or preferred syrup) - or hot honey to kick up the heat!
  1. Cook the Chicken:
    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
    2. Place 6 frozen strips on baking sheet and cook for 19-21 minutes (or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees).
  2. Make the Waffles:
    1. Preheat waffle iron.
    2. In a bowl, mix waffle mix, water/milk, egg (if using), and melted butter.
    3. Stir until just combined.
    4. Pour batter into waffle iron and cook until golden and crispy.
  3. Assemble and Serve:
    1. Place waffles on a plate, top with cooked chicken.
    2. Add a pat of butter and drizzle with syrup or hot honey
